Happy Chap Goh Mei

It's the 15th and also last day of the Lunar New Year already! Time really fliesssss and I've just came back from Genting Highlands with my mum, niece and nephew for Doraemon Carnival that was held there.

Although Genting was flocked with lots and lots and lots of people, I still enjoy the carnival and cooling weather so much!! Just transferred pics to my hard drive and there are more than 600 pics captured in this 2 days! hahaha... It's time for me to view them and post them up as soon as I can. One day to rest tomorrow and it's a 3 working day week until the weekend!

CNY 'Yee Sang' 2012

If you are a Chinese living in Malaysia and didn't have any tossing of Yee Sang a.k.a 鱼生 or 捞生 or 捞起 during the Lunar new year, then you're missing out quite a bit of fun already! hahaha...

Throughout the 15 days during our Chinese new year, I had a few sessions of this prosperity toss.

First one:

At Imperial Restaurant, Taman Desawan with my MGS-ians dearies!

I always appreciate a get-together time with them yearly coz most of us are busy with our lives either working overseas or local. The only time where all of us are in Klang will be during CNY. So, there... our first Yee Sang session in the year of the dragon! ^^

Second session:

At Grand Garden, Bukit Tinggi with my family on my mum's birthday.

Huat (發) ar!! The Hokkiens luv to say this during CNY or throughout the year if one please.

Third session:

At KC's house which is located in Seri Kembangan.

We 'tapao-ed' two portions of Yee Sang to be tossed at KC's place when he generously offered his house for a get-together among fellow Marsh colleagues...

Fourth & also the last one during the auspicious Dragon year:

At Marsh office in Bangsar for our CNY lunch. The 3 major races in the company (Chinese, Indian & Malay) will treat the rest of the colleagues for a lunch-do during each festive new year respectively.

I am not sure how many portions of Yee Sang that the management have ordered, but this one is from the table where I was tossing. "Promotion, Increment, huat ar!!!" hahaha...

I really enjoy these little sessions of 'Yee Sang' as I find it rather fun!!

CNY Reunion Lunch

This year we had our reunion meal one day before CNY eve at home!

This is the first homemade meal for CNY reunion after soooo many years of eating out and it's soooo good! hahahaha...

Wishing everyone a joyous and prosperous year ahead... May the year of the Dragon bring in lots and lots of happiness, health and wealth to my family, friends and also myself! ^^

ArrowRoot Chips

Arrowroot chips have become my favourite chips to be eaten during CNY after I've tried them for the first time last year. They taste like potato chip but only more delicious and sweeter. and This year I've ordered several containers from one of my colleagues without knowing that my mum has bought one whole lot to be made at home too! So I helped her turn these fruits (is it a fruit or veg or nut?) to chips! hahahaha...

The steps in making these super awesome chips are quite simple... We just need to peel the skin off from the fruit, clean, drain and slice them. ^^

Frankly. the slicing part is a quite tedious task. I can't seem to get it right, so my mum does them.

Next, heat oil in a wok and put in those sliced arrowroot into the heated oil and deep fry them under small fire.

Take the arrowroot all out from the wok when they start turning into golden brown. Do not wait until they are golden brown in colour IN the wok because by the time we took it out, it'll become slightly burnt/ over-cooked.

While waiting for the arrowroot to cool down, sprinkle some sea salt onto them. I reserved two containers of these awesome chips without any salt as I prefer unsalted ones. ^^

Ta-da. Place them into a container after they've cooled down, seal it and it's good to go!

Music-man II Malaysia Concert Promo

Leehom was in town for a duration of less than 20 hours yesterday to help boost his upcoming Music-man II concert sales. There is only one event scheduled during his short duration in KL and it was held in Kenanga Wholesale City.

We went to the airport for his arrival and I think he was in a good mood and we got ours albums and other stuff signed! hahaha... The last time I went personally to get his autograph was in 2009 after his Music-man concert. hehe..

About 10pm Sunday, arrived at KLIA

10am - Kenanga Wholesale City Level 15, where the promo and public press conference was held.

About 11.30, Leehom made an appearance.

Reporters asked questions, followed by a few fans... Photo taking session with the sponsors.

My friend, KC made a 'Dragon treble clef shaped cake' for him and presented to him on stage together with Joanne, the club president.

Homemade cake by Kyrina. Pui Foong helped wrap the fondant and I made the wordings out. =) Looks simple? We spent the whole night to complete it! [Picture credit to Thymeloo & Chewies Delight]

It was all worth it when he took a piece and ate it! ^^

A table full with lil gift a.k.a 'ang pao' packets was brought to the stage where Leehom will be distributing to all the fans that came to the event

After we got our lil gift, Juin wanted to go send him off. Hence, off we go to the airport. He was again, in a relaxed mood, maybe partly it's because he doesn't need to perform do a signing session for all the fans in the morning...

So.....

More autographs in the airport!! hahaha... We did not bring any other CDs or books for him to sign except PuiFoong and a few more fans. [Pictures taken from Kyrina's phone]

He waved to us goodbye thus his short trip to Malaysia this time officially ended. All of us left the airport happy but hungry (no food intake since the previous night's supper)

Summary for year 2011

Year 2011 has been pretty amazing! Better than I have expected it to be the previous year anyway. ^^ I've gone through some crazy stuff and the year has fled so fast I did not even expect year end to come so soon. Time for a recap of what good things that happened in the past 12 months again!

January

Begin our year having our annual barbecue session with my 38 Homgang. Received a belated birthday parcel from dear SH all the way from UK. Jon Bailie visit to Malaysia, brought him to have Klang seafood and to I-City with Stewart. Hatyai weekend trip with PuiFoong & Kyrina.

February

First CNY celebration in Klang since 2007: Met lots of friends that I haven't seen in ages. Gathering at Pavilion for a Japanese food dinner with the bunch back from Sheffield. V-day celebration at Library, the Curve with my awesome juniors. Girls night out with Joanne and bunch to Jarrod & Rawlins and the Hill, Damansara Heights. Sara's birthday celebration at home. Gathering with some Sharon and gang at Delicious and Zouk Cafe, MidValley.

March

Dinner with colleagues at Lala Chong. Gathering with high school buddies on YC's birthday at Rakuzen and T Forty Two, Empire. Caseyli's birthday celebration at Palate Palatte, Bukit Bintang. Gathering with KJ at Belly Good, Sunway. Met Fahrenheit at Signature, Gardens for Canon product launching press conference; thanks to Lili for it! Get to see Leehom perform at MY Astro Music Awards at Genting; he bagged the most award back that night! Good friend Kenny & Huiling's cutie princess~ baby Ashly was born.

April

This month was quite quiet for me. Most weekends just out for a meal with Juyen or family only. Baby Ashly's full moon party at V-Garden. Had the best Tiramisu at Alexis, and also attempt to make my own tiramisu dessert, which was a success! hahahaha...

May

Seafood at Teluk Gong with Jessy & Rambutan. Weekend trip to Penang with Pin & Qian; had lots of yummilicious Penang local food! Nisha & Dhiren's birthday celebration at KFC Sentosa. Kyrina's birthday celebration at Alexis.

June

ChuiChin & AhHu ties the knot; a heartiest congratulations to the newlyweds. Found another porridge steamboat place in Klang, been once, and only once coz it's not good. hhmm... Become a volunteer for Parents' Day Luncheon (mainly for old folks) at Imperial Restaurant Klang. The event was meaningful and fun!

July

Gathering with Uni juniors at Library, MV. Seafood lunch treat by Kenny at Tanjung Harapan. Had a quite major operation [hernia] on the 6th and have to take 3 weeks off work to recuperate. Weekend trip to Tawau & Semporna with parents, niece & nephew. Was so disappointed I can only see the seafood being served at dinner tables but not savour them. =(

August

Lunch with family at the Vanilla Place, Empire and they lurved it! Japanese dinner at Jyu Raku with STK for his birthday treat. Been to 88 Steamboat Barbecue, Bukit Tinggi for the first time and enjoyed the experience. Ramadhan buffet at Klang Executive Club with family & Royal Lake Club with colleagues from Marsh. Had my passport renewed in a span of less than 3 hours! Brilliant job from the custom office. Popular book fair at KLCC, bought more than 20 books! National Day celebration at Library, Avenue K.

September

Day trip to Tanjung Sepat and Morib with parents, niece & nephew. Trip to New Zealand - Had my first Bungy jump, shotover jet, ice bar, winery tour and wine tasting experience, etc. Unforgettable trip for sure. Belated birthday treat for AndrewTang at Sushi Zanmai, Gardens. Gathering with JasonTan & friends at PJ. Juin's birthday celebration at KC's place then followed by drinking session at Library later on. Big bro & SiL came back from the USA for good.

October

Attended several relatives' wedding with family. Westlife's 'Gravity' Asia Tour at Putra Indoor Stadium. Was seated 3rd row from the stage and it's so near! Marsh' 3d2n team building event at Langkawi; had lotsa fun as this was the first team building that I've joined. Leehom released his latest compilation album title 'Open Fire.' Logos Hope docked at Westport so went there to have a look and bought a few CDs back home. Juyen's birthday celebration at Craft Brewery and Laundry, the Curve.

November

Another friend ShinWare, ties the knot. Deepavali lunch at Dave & Sis place. Crystal became a mum to a beautiful and healthy baby girl! First karaoke session with colleagues at Redbox, Gardens. My first visit to Taiwan, and also to Leehom 'Open Fire' two-day concert tour which kick start in Taipei Arena. First time holidaying with my Homies out of M'sia/Thai. Another unforgettable trip! Kevin's birthday celebration at home.

December

The month with lotsa public holidays & birthdays; also my favourite month. Jacky Cheung half century concert tour at Putra Indoor Stadium. Lil nephew, Wei's birthday celebration at home. Wore polka-dots attire to work with the whole finance, admin and HR team to work. Worked one year at Marsh already! Yay! Qian's birthday celebration at Neway, Centro. Weekend trip to Singapore with Meng, Nisha & Dhiren. Q4 staff meeting, year end lunch, and gift exchange session with colleagues. Birthday celebration for December babies. Christmas eve barbecue at home with high school friends and family. Birthday lunch treat at Sage, Garden with FZ. Weekend shopping session with JY and Sara, followed by a pint at Overtime with JY & stk. Daniel Lee released his latest album 'Sincerely Yours, Daniel' on the 29th. Eve of New Year's eve 'steamboat'/ drinking session with colleagues at Lock's place. New Year's barbecue at home with my 38 Homgang.

Pheww, finally done with this summary.

Looks that I've been going to a few concerts, having enormous amount of good food and drank quite a bit of alcohol for the past 12 months. Will try to cut down on all these this year hopefully. ^^

Hoping for the best to come in 2012! My this year's resolution is pretty simple. "Work hard, play hard, lose weight."

Ok, I've been quite busy and without me realising, it's the eve of New Year's Eve once again! I think I'll just sum up everything in 2011 in my next post.

Work has been treating me OK so far. Frankly speaking, this year has been far better and great than what I have expected! I never thought I could still travel overseas or get my passport 'stamped' in other countries after I came back from Sheffield.

Anyway, summary for 2011 up next! Felt realllyyyy reeaaally bad for neglecting and lacking of updates in the month of December.

Busy December

Whoa I did not realised I haven't been updating my blog for the past two weeks already! Time has been allocated more in work and also on other stuffs. When I came back after work, my energy normally will be drained almost to the minimal level and thus leaving me only little to spend time with family. I don't even switch on my computer on a daily basis anymore! (This is coming from someone who can't live without her laptop even for a day, mind you)

Anyway, just another short one today and hopefully will have more time to catch up on those that I have not update very soon. *fingers crossed*

Christmas, birthday, and new year is around the corner. Guess time to update here will be delayed once again. Hhmm, maybe will just update some pics these few days..

Taiwan Night Market FOOD!

Frankly speaking, one of the most exciting part visiting Taiwan is to try out their local cuisine and snacks from their various night markets! I've been to only two night markets this time and have tried some of their huge varieties of local specialties...

Prior to the trip, my mum told me that their food are over-rated by a lot of food programs from the TV, and from her tour last year, she said it's true coz most of the food she had was crap. I beg to differ. She followed tour and my friends and I are on our own. Tour groups/ agents always bring you to some crap places where they received commission for bringing in tourists to their dining place. So, that is one reason I hate to follow tour. hahaha..

Well, these are some of the many many more snacks/ food we tried during our short trip to Taiwan. There are more, but we didn't really took all the pictures of food we've eaten...

Shihlin (Taipei) & FengJia (Taichung) Night market. Crowded ALL the time! Even past midnight, the streets of night markets are occupied with people!

Fried squid that are cut into smaller pieces - is a MUST try!! I don't dare take so much of these evil fried stuff coz it's only our first night in TW. Don't wanna get sick too soon. hahaha

Mmm.... Hands down, Snowflakes and other dessert copies in Malaysia can't beat these little hawker stalls. Seriously, one big bowl of this dessert is only NT30 (about RM3.00)! We can choose 3 different ingredients to put into our 'tong sui'. The taro and sweet potato balls are really yummy and I've asked the uncle to put more of those in my beancurd tong sui and he didn't even charge me extra for that! *lurvesss*

Wildboar Taiwan sausages. These are super good! One will salivate just by smelling the aroma of these grilled stuff! Can't have enough of these, I think I had two for supper after Leehom concert. =)

Deep fried enoki mushrooms in batter. All my friends' favourite! I liked it but too much of deep fried stuff is starting to make me feeling not so well that night.

Taiwan version of 卤肉贩 Lu Rou Fan! I've always ordered this in 'Little Taiwan Bangsar' and now I'm actually having the local specialty at the origin country! hahahaa...

Emm... I don't have a clue what this is called. But it's actually some very very thin layer of pancake wrapped with sweet ground peanut and ice-cream! You can have the option of putting some smelly coriander/ parsley in your wrap. But I dropped the idea coz I HATE those green stuff in ALL my food.

My bowl of richly flavoured beef noodles, and I didn't even bother to take out those little spring onions from the bowl this time! hahaha...

Dan Bing/ Chong You Bing/ Scallion pancakes or whatever you want to called it, is also another MUST try if you're in Taiwan. I was in Taiwan for 6 days, and I had this for 4 days! We can choose what to wrapped in our pancakes and I have chosen bacon for this one. My portion of super tasty Bacon dan bing. Yum yummm....

I did not manage to try any of their famous oyster omelet but no worries, can always go for a second trip in the future! These are what I called as fresh oyster!

Smelly Tofu. I have been bugging my friends to accompany to try these Smelly/ stinky beancurd since day 1 of the trip but none of them gave me a slight interest to try. So, during my last night in Taichung, I finally bought a portion of it to try! As my friends are looking at me eating the crispy tofu, they were curious and all of them tried some in the end. LOL...

25th and 26th November 2011 marked the date where I stepped foot into Taipei Arena for two consecutive nights to watch Leehom live in concert at his so-called 'home country.' The experience and also his performances are way much better than in our country [Malaysia]. I truly enjoyed his first show [the first night] as it was a fairly new concert tour and on the second show, I took some pictures of his performance just to reminisce the good moments in the future. =)

All band members have gone back stage and fans were requesting for Leehom to come back onstage. After several minutes, Leehom did show up again! We were super excited and trilled when he sang a couple of more songs, which was really spontaneous as fans on the ground requested them. About 40 songs for this concert... Totally worth our time, money and energy to fly over from Malaysia to Taipei Arena this time around... =)

Well, I've been abandoning this blog as I'm getting quite busy with life lately. Just wanted to share a short story I've read recently from the Chicken Soup series and it got me thinking after that..

I'll type it all out now. =)

[I love Fridays, and I'm not alone. Most people associate the last day of the workweek with feelings of relief, relaxation, and anticipation of good times to come in the weekend ahead. You know there has to be something special about a day when the feeling of celebration that accompanies its arrival even is even commemorated in the name of a restaurant chain!

And so I, too, celebrate Fridays. After dropping my son off to school I head to Starbucks, to pick up a coffee treat of one type or another. Then instead of driving straight home I generally take a long route through the most scenic roads I can find, which usually includes mu favourite corner of the local state park. On and on throughout the day I find myself smiling and happy for no other reason than that the day's name starts with an "F" rather than a "M", "T", or "W."

When I pick my son up again hours into the afternoon we high-five physically and vocally, our chorus of "FRIDAY!" resonating at least as loudly as our hands slap. Then we point out to each other the signs of beginning celebration in the college town we drive through. We see footballs being passed on fraternity lawns, hamburgers being thrown on grills, people parked on front porch swings, and parties everywhere swinging into action. Sometimes it seems as if the whole world is celebrating Friday!

The other day I emerged from a doctor's office happy over a positive prognosis in a health situation I was concerned about. My good mood was amplified by the signs of spring that were bursting all around me-flowers blossoming, birds singing, bright sunshine warm upon my back. I was suddenly ready to celebrate, and java scented thoughts wafted through my brain. I whispered the word "Cappuccino!" and headed for the specialty coffee bar that was conveniently located just around the corner.

My mind rebelled. "What are you doing? It's Tuesday! Coffee treats are reserved for Fridays!" And suddenly I realised how ridiculous that line of thinking was! Why should Fridays be any more special than any other day of the week? Why waste six days while waiting to rejoice on the seventh? Minutes later I was walking back to my car with a big grin on my face and raspberry mocha in my hand.

A small victory, to be sure, but it's also an accurate example of how many of us live our lives. We're waiting for conditions to be right before we allow ourselves to enjoy our time here on earth. Maybe when we finally graduate from college and get a job it will be the time to celebrate, or perhaps when our toddlers are old enough to be in school all day. We'll rejoice when the car is paid off, or enjoy life when we're finally able to retire. And in that waiting we waste so much of the life God has given us and the happiness that can be found in our todays.

What if we moved a little of that "Friday feeling" into our rainy-day Mondays, our gloomy Tuesdays and our mid-week Wednesdays? Surely our lives would be much happier as a result.

It's interesting to note that T.G.I. Fridays' isn't open for business on just the last day of the workweek! No, they celebrate all week long and into the weekend.

So should we.]

Deepavali Lunch 2011

We did not make it to eldest sister's place on the actual Deepavali day, so her mum-in-law specially cooked a meal for us to have lunch during the weekend. It was a simple yet warm meal and we really enjoyed the food very much!

Yummy yummy..... Dry mutton curry (Dave's mum specialty; also my favourite!), mixed vegetables, chicken curry and one egg dish.

We were always being treated with great hospitality from Dave's family during this festive Divali day; and each year, without fail, we also will bring back MORE food and snacks to be eaten at home! hahaha...

Ordered a simple brownie from Chewies Delight on Friday to celebrate my friend, JY's birthday.

Last year, there were only tw of us and we had Japanese buffet at Grand Blue Wave Hotel. This year, we had our dinner at Craft Brews and brought the cake along. Food there was really nothing to shout about, big portion, but taste wise, they're just average.

It's really nice staying close with family coz when we came back in the evening be it from work, or outside; there's always lots of yummy food waiting for us at the dinner table. ^^

Logos Hope; World's Largest Floating Book Fair

The Logos Hope, which docked at Port Klang from 29th September to 23rd October has been attracting thousands of visitors from all over the place for their largest floating book fair.

Of course, myself and family was no exception. The best part is that Westport is just 15 minutes away from home and we could not possibly miss the chance to visit her when the ship is open to public to explore, right? ^^

Heard from friends that the ship is flocked by people from all over the country and during day time, we need to queue for quite some time before entering into the Logos Hope. So, my sis decided we go in the evening where there are less crowd. Indeed, when we depart from home at about half past 8 or so, there wasn't any queue! hahaah...

The Logos Hope @ Port Klang Cruise Centre

The ship is open to visitors from Tuesdays to Saturdays (10.00am to 10.00pm), Sundays (3.00pm to 10.00pm), and close on Mondays. The entrance fee for adult is RM1.00 and free entrance for children 12 and under.

Welcome to Logos Hope.

The variety of books have expanded compared to Doulos ship that has docked in Port Klang many many years ago.

I was particularly interested in their Music section as there were some really good bargain on their instrumental albums. Bought two Celtic music CDs priced at RM8.00 and RM16.00 each. *happy*

Other than books, they sell souvenirs of the ship, CDs, and other stationary too!

Children titles at Logos Hope, and lesser crowd at night!

If one did not find anything suitable for themselves, they can always opt to donate to the donation box on their way out from the ship. Like the board that says, "Your donation make a big difference!!" I'm sure it really will make a difference, even for a small contribution..

Anyway, we really enjoyed our time browsing at the books and none of us left the ship empty handed.

Dinner at Frames Cafe

Watermelon juice - RM8.90

This was somewhat very cool and refreshing. A good choice for ordering this after a long day at work.

Spicy seafood carbonara - Rm29.00; Spaghetti tossed with cream, chilli flakes and seafood.

Beef Burger - RM25.00; Homemade beed patty with cheddar cheese , grilled pineapple and black pepper sauce. Served with coleslaw and steak fries.

This was my first time ordering a burger meal other than having those normal fast-food burgers from various fast-food chains... and I lurve it. They put pineapple instead of raw onions on the beef burger which I thought was innovative and appetising at the same time.

Both of us ordered some dessert after our mains and both of them are equally good, to be honest.

Dark chocolate brownies - RM12.90

Sticky date pudding - RM12.90

The meal was satisfying but pricing was at a bit of a high side to me. Will I pay a second visit there? We'll see... We'll see... =)

After 14 years...

Felt so sad after reading this statement from Westlife.

Marsh Team Building 2011 - Langkawi

My first time in participating in a team building and I totally lurve it! 3D2N for Marsh's team building...

Note: Lots of pictures ahead. As the saying goes, "Picture speak a thousand words".... I'll just keep my writing minimal and load more pictures in! ^^

Day One

The first picture I have taken in Langkawi, view from the plane.

We were being transferred from the airport, to the hotel~ Hotel Villa @ Langkawi

All of us were practically starving by then, and first thing first, room keys being distributed and then... Lunch for all! *thanks goodness for that*

There are quite a wide variety for us to choose from the buffet spread but taste wise, it was alright. Food weren't great even though our stomachs were growling. hhmmm...

Me & roomie. We have about an hour before the first activity begin...

3pm - A warm-up session with every teams... This is team 2 with 7 of us.

Blindfolded and was told to grab as many items on the stage by listening to 'instructions' by my team members. I grabbed a few scissors, a blade and few pens but without any masking tape! But fortunately the organiser gave every team an extra roll of masking tape thereafter. ^^

We are suppose to build a 'Flintstones' car out of the 8 card boxes that was given to each team.

Ta-da! Team 2's 'Faster, Greater & Safer' cardbox car. LOLLL...

After completing, out we go to the great outdoor for some friendly competition among other colleagues!

Round 1: Team 1 to 5 getting ready to race in their so-called respective automobiles.

Ignite! Round 2 - Team 6 to 10's turn. Then there was round 3 - where 2 winners from round 1 & 2 came up and 'race' once more.

Team 2 won hands-down. muahahahaha....

Had an hour or so to freshen up.

Some of my colleagues from Penang and KL office... and we're ready for our first Marsh dinner at one of the local restaurants nearby.

Dinner at The taste of Heritage ~ Kantan Restaurant. I must say, the Malay buffet served was pretty good!

After dinner, the event organiser took us for some Duty-Free shopping at Kuah town where we can buy all the duty-free stuffs! I bought some alcohol, and chocolates... =)

.. and also follow by a small gathering in our boss' room after all the shopping session.

Day Two

We received a morning call at 6.45 to wake every one up! Proceed to one of the ballrooms after breakfast to officially kick start Marsh' Team Building 2011! I was really excited as I don't know what to expect next! hahaha...

We are supposed to complete several tasks in the vehicle by 3pm and the event starts at half past 9. We plan our journey on which tasks to be done first and continued with the next one. Cool....

For us, we chose Go-kart to be done first as the rest of the teams are all clogged up at the Paddy field. Testing our photographic memory and also mathematical quiz to be done later! I was kinda disappointed I did not manage to get two colours/ numbers on the first lap, and we have to go into the circuit for a second time.

Activities that we have to do including doing a really cute 'elephant' dance before feeding the actual 33-year old elephant....

and design a 'tiger inspired' theme t-shirt to be sold off upon completing the design of it.

Oh before we can begin designing the t-shirt, there's a task where one of us need to dive our hands in an aquarium that was filled with snakes and get a key out to open the 'treasure' box... of which contain a box of crayon and other artsy crafts ingredients for the tee!

Yay! The tee looks good, isnt't it?

Next task.

Going into a paddy field (Yes, you saw it right. The actual muddy paddy field with leeches and stuff) to actually do the traditional paddy planting activities! We have to pluck, transfer and plant the paddy from field one to another field.

Then off we go to the hotel to complete the final tasks where we have to be good in balancing...

Then we proceed to the point where we started and our team building activities were completed! One final cheer for team 2! ^^

Next... our own leisure activities...

We went to the beach and H.Chen suggested we go for para sailing (or para gliding). I was the first to agree on the idea and we then asked for more people to join in order to get more discounts in pricing for each of us. haahhaa... 30% off the original prices wasn't that bad, huh? =)

While waiting for the others to gather and off we go in two coaches for dinner!

The company of all were great... Seen many colleagues' cheerful and jolly characters where we would not normally see in the office... hahaha...

As for our seafood dinner. It sucks! It's my first time not able to enjoy a seafood dinner! Prawns, fish, crabs are all craps... What was OK was the fruit platter that was presented to us last I guess... hhmm... disappointing meal.

After dinner... The event organiser announced that all of us are winners and there are no specific winner in this Ignite 360. Each of us was given a bar of Toblerone as a token of appreciation.

Hahaha... We are not satisfied from the horrendous meal, and ended up sitting at Artisan's Pizza for supper after that.

This simple pizza meal was really satisfying for our pity stomachs... lol...

We looked happier after the supper, don't we?

This will be the last night of our 3d2n trip to Langkawi and the night is still young when were back to the hotel. So, we went for another round of gathering (and some drinking) at the lounging area by the pool.

Marsh-ians having a great time chilling and relaxing before we're back to work two days after. ^^

Day Three

Some of us are scheduled to be on the afternoon flight, and the rest evening. Mine was in the afternoon and I was so grateful it was, as I can rest at home for half a day before getting back to work the following morning. hehehe... Cheerios to Marsh and the committee in organising such fantastic event and I'm sure to treasure these memories in my 'memory chest' for long.

Westlife "Gravity" Tour Concert

THE day has finally arrived! I was so ecstatic when I first heard news that Westlife will be coming to Malaysia for concert after a decade of no visits to this country.

Myself and another colleague of mine, Janice left earlier from office coz we were afraid the road from Bangsar to Bukit Jalil will be jammed up. Then, we ended up reaching there about 3 hours earlier before the concert actually starts. XD

I have booked our tickets through phone booking so we have to collect our tickets at the ticketing counter first. Row 3 from the stage!! This was the best seat I've had compared to all concerts I've been in Malaysia... ^^ (I've sat at Row 1 for Mayday's concert but that's another different story coz it was held in America, so it's not counted) hahaha...

Since we have ample of time in our hands, we kill it by going for a round of meal, and some picture snapping session, i.e. the one above. Then it started to drizzle all of a sudden and we quickly went over to the door where we were suppose to enter to the concert.

One really good gestures from the organiser this time around was the pre-show cocktail session! I have never been to any concerts with a pre-show cocktail/ snacks before so it's really a good experience for me this time.

Both Janice and I really enjoyed the session and had quite a lot of snacks and finger food although we'd just had our early dinner about an hour before or so. hahaha... I, on the other hand, was really happy they have a few more varieties of drinks to choose from. I didn't drink alot la, just glass of red and white wine and another mug of beer only. All were complimentary!

At about 8-ish, we were quite excited as the concert was about to start and we then went into the arena and waited patiently for the concert! ^^

Then at about 9pm, the lads finally appear and perform their first songs which was 'When You're Looking Like That.' Frankly, I was quite disappointed they didn't have an opening/ intro session like all their concerts I've been in the UK.

Oh, you see this couple? They were called on stage and the man proposed to his girlfriend right in front of the whole crowd of the arena! This was pre-arranged with the organiser and I don't know how he managed to arrange it. The guy must be some big shot, or knew some big shot in the company I reckon. Anyway, the proposal was lovely though.

My favourite set of clothing for the night! When they were doing the Medley thingy! Particularly lurve it when they perform 'Only Girl in The World'. The crowd went crazy and all were practically dancing and jumping including myself and Janice!. (p/s: Janice's feet was injured weeks ago and she still dance!) The power of Westlife! hahaha

Johnny Barr's is a place that offers healthy and tasty gourmet sandwiches at a reasonable price in Queenstown.

Pin has read quite a few reviews from forums and websites stating that this is a 'must-go' place to either dine-in or take-out for visitors to this town.

Opening hours for Johnny Barr's can be seen from the pics above. I don't need to repeat and type them all out. Oh, and it's very obvious that the theme for this place is none other than... moustache! We didn't order much during our first visit to this place coz all of us have had quite a heavy breakfast few hours before.

Johnny Barrs' house specialty - BBQ Pulled Pork! It's a combination of shredded braised pork with spicy barbecue sauce topped with cheddar cheese and coleslaw.

Can't resist The Caesar when I saw it on the menu board. So, one portion of Chicken caesar salad for us too. The salad was great, especially the crunchy croutons and bacons... yummss.. ^^

Highly recommended from me. It's Jimmy the Greek - a wrap of roast lamb topped with tabouli, cucumber, tomatoes, and other vegies...

By the end of the meal, we were all so full. Don't be fooled by the pictures above, there's are generally very big portion! The meal was satisfying and we left the place with a tummy-filled stomach and also a jolly happy mood... =)

Queenstown's BelowZero Ice Bar

There are two 'Ice Bars' located in Queenstown alone and we decided to give BelowZero a go as it is a fairly new bar in town. I was set to go to this Ice Bar place the second I saw the pamphlet at our accommodation.

Why am I so eager? The answer is simple because everything from the walls, to the sculptures and even the glasses they serve their cocktails and mocktails are created from ice! How cool is that huh! ^^

Oh, and this place only serves vodka cocktails and nothing else. *me likeyyy*

We were 'given' with a pair of gloves and warm jacket each before entering to the minus 5 degrees bar. Upon entering to the room, I immediately start shooting away with my camera! hahahaa...

Jet Boat @ Shotover & Kawarau Rivers

Another outdoor activity which Queenstown has to offer is none other than this high-speed Shotover Jet! Myself, nephew and sis booked the 10am session for an hour of this ride.

Kawarau Jet departs from this Main Town Pier of Queenstown bay at every hour.

Thank goodness for a good weather that morning. Clear blue sky, with excellent weather waiting for us ahead!

Three blur fellas woke up early in the morning for some adventures! Can't wait! ^^

As we were told about this river, I was kinda amazed when the guide told us that the river is actually very shallow and the jets are designed specially for exploring the shallow river. The jet boat driver told us that it could race at speeds like 80km per hour in the river water of less than 5cm! That is quite impressive, eh? ^^

We go very near to some rocks and under-the-bridge walls and could feel the adrenaline pumping when the driver almost knock at those rocks! That was of course done in purpose, and we are still being driven in safe hands. hahahaha...

The driver will occasionally 'do' the 360 degrees spin which I thought was simply awesome! He will make a hand gesture signalling he'll do the spin and here we go....

Spin and splash! Normally I'll hide my camera under my jacket to prevent it from getting wet, but for the last spin, I just couldn't bother less and just shoot away aimlessly.

Kawarau Bridge Bungy

One of the few adventures I've had in Queenstown a.k.a the Adventure Capital of the World was doing the first commercial bungy jump at Kawarau Bridge! A lot of travel book says it's an essential component of every New Zealand visitor's itinerary.

I was still contemplating whether to jump or not the day before coz it would be me going alone. In the end, I booked a session despite the fact that I was going to be alone. Better try it out than regretting it later, right? ^^

Popular Bookfest 2011

Have been doing quite a bit of books shopping over the long festive holiday last week!

Second sis asked me to go along during the very first day of the 10-day long stretch bookfest that was organised by Popular bookstore. The bookfest was held several times throughout the year but this was my very first time there.

Having a lil bit of 'culture shock' when I entered the massive hall in KL Convention Centre, I grabbed so many books at one go! Think I was too greedy, my arms began to ache and I left behind some books that I wanted to buy and come back the next 3 days! Yes, I went there 4 days straight! hahahaha...

Here are the lil treasures I brought back home from the bookfest

Several sets of of CD collection, fictions, photography book, cookbooks, etc. All these for about RM400.00!

Some hard cover books are so cheap and yet I didn't manage to carry them home coz they're too heavy already! =(

Anyway, here are a few selection that I have to forgo in the end. I really really wanted to get that Wonder of the World book, but the weight of that book prevent me from buying it... bah.. Will wait for the next bookfest then!

3 girls & some drink

KC's asked me over to her place on the eve of National Day to have dinner. After dinner, we were quite bored so we asked Juin out for a drink too. Oh, and I was so happy coz it's my first time spending my time in KL city on this very 'special' day!

We weren't sure of where to go so we ended up at KLCC area. There's a Library (the chill out place, NOT the place with lots of books) in Avenue K, and we said, why not having a drink there instead...

We ordered a tower of Hoegaarden and I ended up having more than half of it!! Well, I'm not complaining here... lol.. Really had a great time catching up with the girls and hope to chill with them more often soon..

'Raya' Indulgence

Had 5 days break in conjunction of Malaysia National Day & also the Muslim's Hari Raya. So, we quickly grabbed the chance to eat-out with family and friends during the break.

This was not so good compared to the meals I had for the past few days. Pork dried noodles @ Wong Kok CharChanTeng, Pavilion.

After breakfast, my family was feeling quite bored so we proceed to Pantai Morib to have a walk since it has been ages the last we went there. Then for lunch, we stopped by at Tanjung Sepat for this sumptuous lunch. We ordered 5 dishes for 5 person and the bill only came up to 70 to 80 ringgit!!

Since the Mid Autumn festival is somewhere around the corner. My house suddenly has a few boxes of mooncakes sitting on the dining table and I really liked this! Homemade Shanghainese mooncake from our neighbour! yumsss...

How time flies this very year! Swooshhhh, and it's the last month of the 3rd quarter of the year again!

Today's the first day of the month and I felt like I've done so much for the day already... Family outing for breakfast in the morning, then proceed to a short trip to Morib, and stopped by Tanjung Sepat for lunch/ brunch, then went to Aeon to buy some groceries and movie tickets and now am waiting to go out for dinner in a bit! hahahahah....

Frankly, the whole of this Raya long break is all about food, food and more food only! Be it with my sisters, parents, or friends... lol... Will update about those yummilicious food we had soon!! ^^

Ramadhan Buffet @ Royal Lake Club

Had my first dinner outing with colleagues from my department yesterday evening for a 'Buka Puasa' Ramadhan buffet at Royal Lake Club, KL. The dinner was initiated by our IT manager and I really enjoyed the company and also the food, of course! Have to thank Mr 'IT' Nazrin for treating us this big meal! ^^

Well, it was my first time to this Kelab Taman Perdana DiRaja and what I did most of the time was none other than snapping away with my iPhone!! (Should have brought my camera along...)

Pricing for the buffet: RM45.00 for adult, and RM25.00 for child.

Grilled lamb awesomesauce!

I really enjoyed their serving of grilled lamb! Attacked the lamb for so many rounds til I can't take any more meat for the evening.. Lol..

We had our dinner session for more than 2 hours and it is always nice to mingle around with the people that we worked with... I'm not a chatty person, so most of the time I'll just listen. Even so, I had a great time though!

Angry Birds merchandise

I was wandering at the Asian Avenue in Sunway Pyramid the other day. Then all of a sudden I was really in the mood to capture some pictures when I saw so many different types of Angry Birds merchandises being sold.

Different types of cute stuff to lure people into buying them!

The 'Angry Birds' fever really do raked in crazy money for businesses everywhere! From the official game that can be downloaded from smartphones (I downloaded all 3 apps from Rovio - The Original Angry Birds, Seasons and RIO ones), to the unofficial merchandises sold all over the world. Malaysia, is no exception.

Key chains! I really like the pig with the contractor helmet... Feel like buying it... What do you think?

Ugly figurines... Some are really distorted it should be taken back to the factory where they were manufactured!

Breakfast at Meals Station

Had our usual Friday breakfast at Meals Station which is situated in Sooka Sentral. Normally I would just order the egg and toast + a drink set, but today I feel like having rice so I ordered the Nasi Lemak set instead.

This plate was presented in front of me and my mood swing straightaway. From good, to a bad one. ggrr...

Look at this... One pathetic slice of cucumber, one small leafy lettuce, half an egg, and some sambal. Of course I was furious!! So, like my usual style, I asked the waiter to take it back and present me with a 'more presentable' plate of Nasi Lemak.

The waiter took it back and said that they're going to charge an extra RM1.00 for some extra egg. I said it's fine. Adding RM1 is better than me having a lousy mood for the rest of the day, right? =)

Two minutes later....

Anchovies and one more hard boiled egg added, but no change on the cucumber and lettuce part. Slightly better. Hence, no complain for me thereafter.

I'll stick to my usual half boiled egg and toast next round. hhmmm....

Worst Salad Ever

Had a very awful portion of grilled chicken 'funny' salad for lunch at Joseph Kitchen, Bangsar. Don't ever order THIS when you're there...

The dressing was bad, the 'croutons' were actually some unfreshed cut bread, the raw onions are gross, and the main act itself; which was the Chicken taste weird.

From the pic above, it looks good, but don't be deceived by this innocent and good looking salad, it's the worst I had so far! urgghhhh....

Dinner at Jyu Raku, ss15 Subang

My first visit to Jyu Raku @ SS15, Subang Jaya! Went there after work on Wednesday evening to celebrate my friend's belated birthday. The place was not packed with people and I was happy coz that means we don't need to wait for long upon ordering our food. Very good for a start... ^^

The are at least 5 more Japanese restaurants located at the very same row of shops @ SS15 and I don't know what made me decide to have food here instead. Alas, it was a good choice after all... hehehe..

Jyu Raku offers a wide selection of dishes to be chosen off their menu. The menu pictured above is HUGE!!

After we were seated down, the waitress came over and asked us what do we like to drink and placed this complimentary starter for each.

Since the menu selection was huge and I wasn't in the mood in deciding what to eat (plus having a mild headache), the task of ordering our dinner was left to my friend to complete. ha ha

I ordered this though, my must-eat food when visiting a Japanese restaurant! Chawanmushi (RM10.00). Was surprised when I open the lid of the cup and see so much topping on my Chawanmushi! The texture was silky smooth and it was really gooood!

Salmon sashimi (Rm24.00). These are so fresh and the thick-cut salmon proves that this place is very generous when it comes to giving their customers the satisfaction when dining at the restaurant!

Another great first impression for me. Guess they'll have to be good in their service and food or else their competitors next door will pull their customers away. Competitions are always good for the consumers.. muahahaha...

Picture: Top - Rainbow Roll (RM28.00), bottom - Jyu Raku Roll (RM28.00). Pretty food never failed to attract me! hahaha... The Rainbow roll was somewhat normal to me but this Jyu Raku Roll would be the reason I come back in the future! Very delicious.... Instead of having seaweed and rice in a roll, they've replaced it with thinly sliced cucumber and fresh lettuce for the roll, wrapped together with salmon, unagi, shrimp, tamago and topped with the right amount of salmon roe! Really scream YUMMS!

Half way eating, I wanted to have unagi and my friend doesn't really fancy an Unagi bento box, so how?? We ordered this Stamina Roll (RM28.00) with contains not so much amount of rice with some avocado, cucumber and tamago.

Overall, food quality in Jyu Raku were great, just a lil bit to the pricey side in my opinion. Well, good food always come in an exception price. To me, spending money on quality food without having anything to complain about is way much better than having me complaining about lousy food during/after a meal.

Pasta & dessert at The Vanilla Place

Bought some great deals from Groupon Malaysia the other day and one of them is a pasta & dessert meal at this Vanilla Place which is situated in Empire Shopping Gallery (in front of Toys 'r' Us).

Food and dessert prices are considered as reasonable in this place, or I can say it's one of the cheapest among so many food outlets in the mall already! Taste wise, they served yummilicious food with a value for money pricing. ^^

I got 4 vouchers priced at RM16.00 each and I thought the deals were simply awesome! Drinks are not included though, so we've ordered a few drinks and a portion of appetisers to start. Brought my mum, sis and niece there to try-out.

Appetiser: Tuna 'Pai Tee'. These little crispy crust 'cups' that was filled with cold tuna & olive was simply delicious. As for the food deco wise, they don't look so good though.

Now, our mains....

Smoked duck spaghetti (RM15.80). Both my mum and sis really enjoyed this one a lot. I didn't have a chance to try it coz when I was done with my own portion of pasta, the plate of spaghetti was already gone! ha ha

Aglio Olio (RM15.80). The portion was generous as they've included several huge prawns in it! Aglio olio spaghetti is my all-time favourite but then I skipped this time coz I still can't have any seafood at the moment. Chilli flakes, also a no-no for me too... Nisha finished the whole portion on her own! (her mum stole some of it ocassionally) ^^

Carbonara, with turkey, mushrooms and topped with some crispy ham (RM15.80). This, was my eldest niece's favourite as she really enjoys having creamy and cheesy pasta! I realised the food preference from the ladies that I went with that day are all different! hahaha... Mum & sis's preference was somewhat similar though..

Smoked salmon spaghetti (RM15.80) This one is a lot milder compared to my niece's Carbonara, and I opt for this as it's not so creamy in taste. Lurve the combination of smoked salmon and some fish/shrimp roe with the spaghetti and light cream. Will try to 'DIY' this dish some day at home. hehehe...

After our mains, here come the desserts!!

We need to order 4 desserts but only managed dig into two of them, so we take-away the other two for the boys who's playing their psp games at home.

Price for most of the desserts are RM9.80 per serving.

Oh-so-heavenly Carrot cake for Dhiren. I went back home and nipped some from my nephew. hahahaha...

Pavlova. This sinfully sweet dessert was not meants for us. Read from reviews it's one of the best Pavlova in Klang Valley so I ordered one of it to try. Er... it was just too sweet for our liking though... Next....

and this Bread & butter pudding was awesome awesome awesome! The warm bread pudding served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream... Combination is just perfect! mmmm.....

We were feeling so stuffed after all these food and proceed to walk around the shopping mall to let go few calories from the sumptuous meal. I'll definitely come back for more of the dessert at The Vanilla Place... =)

August Black Friday

Was very happy after 5pm coz it's the arrival of the weekend once again! Left office about quarter past six and then, the nightmare begins!! Normally if I were to leave office at 6-ish, the latest I'll reach home would be about 9pm.

But NOT for today!!! From KL Central, I would normally take KTM to 3 stations further (Putra) and then from there only will change to another train back to Klang. I did the same for today, and there were some problem with the power supply from the train thus resulting in delay of more than 2 hours.

2 hours delay, never mind.... I still waited for it until an announcement was made that ALL trains would be cancelled for the day and urge us to find alternative to our own destination. I was like, "WTH?!! I waited for more than 2 freaking hours and you ask me find my own way back??"

I really salute the public transportation in this country. How can this happen again??? Power failure NOT once, but it has already happened several times before throughout the year. The freaking company is wholly by the government, no? Why can't the service be improved? sigh, this really shows how incompetent our government is. Super embarrassing!

The lousiest train and train service on earth. I still have to take this back home 5 days a week coz between traffic jam (leg cramp) and waiting, I chose the latter. =(((((

Ok, back to my story. The blardy train stopped at Kuala Lumpur station and I have never been to this station before. I don't know the way and all, that is. =( Initially the platform was very crowded, but I waited and waited hoping that the service would resume as normal. Then after the blardy announcement was made, majority of the people were gone and I left no choice but to message some of my friends for help.

I was very thankful when KJ came to rescue! hahahaa... While waiting, I need to get out from the platform and then I was under this sign board and stood at the same spot wondering which way should I go. argghh.... In the end, I saw one of the worker and ask him for direction to the entrance. hhmm...

Look at the station, so dark (the picture above was heavily 'brightened' with my photo-editing software) and so little people. Security in Malaysia sucks, so I have the right to think and also to be afraid of being robbed or something. (I've been pick-pocket twice at KL Central previously)

Right, so after I have finally found my way to the entrance of the station, I went to the ticketing area and waited for my friend there. What time I did I finally reached home? Well, it was almost 11.00pm when I got back home in the end. =(

However, I am really thankful the fella came to 'rescue' =)

Mongolian Chicken Rice, Tawau

From Semporna to Tawau town. We reached there about 12 and it's time for lunch. Dad was looking for a coffee shop he used to patron when he's there few years back but couldn't locate where exactly is the shop.

Coincidentally, we were at Jalan Chester and this particular chicken rice shop caught my attention and I suggested we find a parking spot and have our lunch there. The place was crowded and I thought I certainly can't be wrong when there are lots of customers eating in the shop... =)

I still dare not eat chicken meat so I thought I could just order some noodles instead. Unfortunately the noodle stall was closed and it left me no choice but to just have the plate of plain rice with some gravy and soup... Each of us were given a bowl of soup that goes with the rice and I was happy as it was some herbal soup thingy. Taste was very good and I finished the whole bowl!!

Mum ordered half a chicken and some other side dish i.e chicken liver & gizzard to be shared among 4 of them. I think the secret to this Mongolian chicken rice should be the gravy coz it taste so good! I don't how these chicken were cooked coz I didn't manage to try even a small piece from the plate. =(

I was afraid that it'll affect my surgical wound... However, I've gotten some tips from foursquare before we entered the shop and one of the tip said this chicken rice place is the best in Sabah and one cannot possibly miss it! hahaha... Nvm, there will always be another chance for me to visit this place in the future!

Oh, and pricing was very reasonable as well.. Less than RM30.00 for our lunch (for 5 pax) and that includes 4 drinks too!

Fish Fish Fish

My parents, niece, nephew and I went over to Tawau coz we managed to book some really cheap flight seats from AirAsia few months back!! I did not ate any other seafood coz I was not allowed to. Wound isn't fully recovered... So, only can take fish... hhmm...

Anyway, here are some really good fish we had during the weekend in Sabah!

First dinner there.

Friday night. This one is called 老鼠斑 Lou Shu Pan... Wasted it was not steamed. Sigh.. I lurve steamed fish, anytime! Didn't know the 'market' price for the fish until the next day where I got a shock after seeing the price from our resort restaurant menu. RM600 for 1kg! But, this is free though ~ treat from dad's friend. hehehe...

Saturday lunch. 七星班 Seven Star Grouper. First time having this fish and it instantly became my favourite after Marbled Goby or also known as 'soon hock' fish in Hokkien.

Saturday dinner. 红鱼 Red Snapper. I wanted to have another type of fish for dinner but the restaurant only offers two types of 'live' fish. Only Seven Star Grouper and this one available, so we opt for this Red Snapper coz we just had the other fish for lunch... XD

Sunday lunch. No pics for today coz I'll update as a separate post tomorrow. hahahaha... We didn't have fish though.

Sunday dinner. Another fish my dad's friend brought from their own fish farm. Don't know what is it called but it was good also! Super fresh and the fish meat was really soft despite the fact that it is really huge! After our meal, he fetched us to the airport and we have to bid goodbye to all the good fish in east Malaysia! hahahaa...

Leehom paperbag!!

Few weeks ago, I passed by a watch shop in Mid Valley and saw a life-size Leehom bunting that was displayed at their display window.

Today, I went again with my sister as she wanted to get a watch. After her purchase, I insist of asking the boss of the shop (BUT dare not ask) about that bunting... In the end, her husband quickly asked and the shop owner said they've returned it to Seiko.

I was disappointed. :(

Then, while we were on the way going out from the shop, the manager took something which was neatly wrapped and protected by a very thin paper and chuck it into my shoe bag...

Then I came back a happy girl... :)

Home Cooked Udon Soup

A bowl of simple Udon soup I made for lunch just a while ago. =)

Lunch I made myself.

I bought a pack of pre-cooked udon noodles yesterday evening. Made the soup out of light soy sauce & anchovies stock, added in a lil bit of flavouring, fried shallots, some spinach and meatballs and my lunch is good to go!

After having a couple of good meals over the weekend, I was down with some problems with my stomach and now I'm back to my soft-food/ soupy meals once again. Well, I'm not complaining here... Just want to share what I cooked today. =)

Meaningful Handcraft

Was having a cuppa coffee at Starbucks just now and then there's this teenage girl that came up to our table and place a card in front of us.

As we were reading the card in front of us, the girl placed several handcrafts on the table.

These little crafts are quite cute and Yen took two of them. Like the card indicates, it's called 'The Art of the Deaf" and buying them show that we're supporting them in a way. =)

Was feeling quite good even though I know that the amount that was donated isn't that significant. I then attached the charm onto my phone right after the girl went off...

Went back home after our drinks feeling a lil better after what I call it as a day of 'ups and downs' earlier in the afternoon. =)

Ups and Downs

Went to have my first check up and the stitches has been taken off this morning. Before going back, I asked my doctor, "Dr Wong, is it alright if I go to KL for a concert today? It'll be a place with lots of people but I don't think it's going to be crowded as I have bought numbered seating for tonight". Then he replied, "Yeah, don't worry and go ahead. Just be careful".

My mood has been lighten up almost immediately and I quickly messaged Kyrina that I was going to go meet them later in the evening!!!

Fast forward: 1 hour later.

Asked stk out for lunch. After our lunch, we still hang out for a while, and before going off, I went to the toilet and found out that there were some 'juice' flowing from the wound. I was frightened and ask the fella to send me home straight.

It's currently 4pm now, where I am suppose to be on my way to Wangsa Maju to meet Kyrina & HJ and then we'll go to Bukit Jalil Indoor Stadium for Gary Chao Ge's concert later. Instead, what am I doing now? Well, the answer is obvious, am currently sitting in front of my laptop updating this entry now. =(

I think it's better that I burn that 200 over ringgit rather than taking the risk of getting myself hurt if I accidentally got into someone else later. *sigh*

Will just spend another lifeless Saturday for the week.

Am feeling so so so so so freaking bored at the moment. Arrgghhh, I wanna get out of the house!!

Staying and resting at home for too long is a crime to me! Can't get to do anything besides lying on the bed, watching tv, reading books, or online occasionally from the laptop. ggrrr..... Can I get back to work or even go out window shopping earlier???

16 days to go before my hospitalisation leave ends. *FAINT*

24 hours @ Sri Kota

6th Jul 2011

5.00am - Belly button in severe pain.

9.00am - Finally the clinic is open! Doctor referred me to hospital.

10.30am - Reached Sri Kota Medical Centre. Consultation with Surgeon Wong.

11.00am - Dr Wong advised me to have operation on the same day itself. Preparation of paperworks from staffs in the hospital.

11.10am - Officially warded

The menu for room rates... No difference from hotel ones... hhmm...

11.30am - Nurses came into my room. I have to fast for at least 6 hours before undergo the umbilical hernia surgery. Last meal intake was 8.00am.

3.45pm - Nurses assist me into the surgery ward before going into the operation theatre.

4.10pm - The last I asked from one of the attendants what is the time, and also whether I'll be conscious/ passed out during the surgery. Then, I passed out immediately.

7.15pm - Nurses brought me back to my ward. Dad & big sis was in the room already.

7.30pm to 9.30pm - Was very touched visitors came. (Mum, 2nd sis, Debbs' mum & bro, JY's parents)

10.00pm - The torture begins. The aunty in the same room as me slept, with her TV volume blasting & not to forget her never-ending loud snoring til 8 in the morning the next day. T_T

7th Jul 2011

6.00am - Sleepless the whole night. So, woke up and changed the playlist in my iPhone (from instrumental to pop/rock genre). Let it on instead of listening from the earphones.

9.00am - Dr Wong came to visit and asked about my condition. Asked him whether could I be discharged on the same day, he say most probably yes. I was overjoyed!

9.30am - Breakfast was sent to my room. I ordered egg sandwich but sis changed the menu for me to having fish porridge the night before.

My first meal after 24 hours. Just had two/three spoonful only.

9.30am to 11.ooam - Nurse came by every half an hour or so to check my pressure. Then one of them told me I could be discharged anytime from the moment.

11.00am - Called dad to fetch me straight. Went to 3rd floor's billing department. Medical bill was a whopping RM3.7k! Luckily they're covered by company's insurance policy. Took medicine from the pharmacy, and collected the relevant documents from Level 6 and proceed back to my room.

11.15am - Packed my stuff and prepare to go home! Yay!

Approx 12.00pm - Reached home.

Mum prepared century egg porridge for me. It was super delicious. ^^

1.00pm - Cleaned up. Went to bed, and fainted for more than 4 hours!!

5.00pm - Woke up and reply emails/ sms-es/ facebook messages.

6.00pm to 10.oopm - Hanging out in the living room. Watch some TV occasionally.

10.00pm - Went up to my room and prepare to Zzzz. (Tired ma....) Was surprised I could actually sleep so early! hahahaha...

11.00pm - Finally dozed off.

8th Jul 2011

4.00am - Woke up. Continue to lie down til 6 in the morning.

8.00am - Had porridge from yesterday night. Took my medication.

My medicine supply for the week. The antibiotics are superbly huge!!!!! So difficult to swallow, would have to cut in into half @.@

12.30pm - Was bored, so decided to blog, and here I am.

I don't know when the wound would heal. Dr Wong gave me hospitalisation leave til 23rd this month.

Boring boringggg.... I wanna watch Transformers, and Harry Potter... How larrhhhhh... sigh. Hoping for a speedy recovery so that I could get out of the house asap! hahaha...

Dim Sum at West Lake Garden Chinese Restaurant

If you like dimsum for breakfast as much as my family do, try dropping by Sunway Resort & Hotel for their weekend dimsum buffet at West Lake Garden Chinese Restaurant. Cost is RM60++ per adult and RM30++ for children.

The dimsum are served after we've ordered and there are quite a variety of buffet selection of dessert and appetisers to be chosen from.

I was glad to see they've fresh oysters and prawns on the buffet selection while the kids were overjoyed when they saw the variety of desserts! Cheesecakes, chocolate mousse, egg custard and ice-cream are my nephews' favourite... hahaha

As for my youngest nephew, he attacked the multi-coloured prawn crackers until his mum asked him to stop munching the crackers and start eating his fried rice instead. =)

There were about 40 varieties of dimsum to be chosen from their menu which I thought were quite narrow as this place is a pork-free chinese restaurant. Lots of yummy pork variety dimsum were scrapped off the menu compared to the normal ones we ate usually. One minus point here. hhmmm...

Presentation of the food are good, as expected from restaurants in hotels. Nothing more to be elaborated. Taste wise, they're average. Not heavenly, not bad, but just alright.

Will I go back for the second time for this? Yes, I will... If we don't need to pay for the food. hahahaha... Anyway, our meal that morning was enjoyable as it's been quite some time since I last had dimsum with my family. ^^

Most of my girl friends have switched to using iPhone now! The other day when I was wandering around with JY in one of the malls, we saw these little phone charms and got 6 of them and we're gonna send them out to Liverpool (for SW), Nottingham (for Debbs), Aussie (for Vonne), and Singapore (for Joanne)... muahahah...

Priced at RM5.90 each, these little charms are so cute and cheap! Think the postage will cost me much more... hhhmmm.... It's ok larh since everyone of us are playing this super addictive game now. hehehe...

Was very happy after buying these coz we'll have the similar phone accesories soon! ^^

Nephew was up to some mischief and no one in the house realised what he has done until he came to us and said, "I didn't do anything, I didn't do anything... *with a big grin on his face"

My parents and I was in the dining room while he's at the living room when this happened... He poured almost 3 quarter of the bottle of talcum powder onto his cars and imagining it was snowing.... Kids nowadays, so creative can! .

Mum was furious and made him cry afterwards... =(

Look at him, tengah syok syok playing with his truck on the 'snowy ground' somemore... LOL

This guy here is only 4 years plus by the way.... hahahah

But, I really have to salute him for being so cute and creative this time!

Dinner at Chili's Grill & Bar

Generous and huge portion served at Chili's Grill & Bar always attract me back for more!! This time, I've had dinner with two of my juniors at the outlet in Mid Valley. One starter, two mains, and countless of bottomless drinks can make some one feel soooo bloated at the end of the day!

To start, we ordered....

Kickin' Jack Nachos/ RM24.95 - Very rich with cheese... THIS alone made the 3 of us feeling kinda full already! ..and our mains aren't even served yet.. hahahaha...

Here's our main course (for sharing)... Always bear in mind to order less main course compared to the amount of people that were present. i.e: 3 person order 2 mains, 6 person order 4 mains... Unless you're a big eater, go ahead with one whole portion for yourself. ^^

Fire-grilled chicken & portobello/ RM32.95 - Lurve the creamy and awesome mash and the two pieces of lovely & tender chicken breast! The portobello was a bit disappointing as I did not expect it to come in such small piece!! One small mushroom and they somemore divide that pathetic piece into 8 million slices... *sad*

Lamb Shank/ RM 36.95 - Cooked in Chili's special sauce which we can't make out what they were made from. Meat was soft & tender coz it was braised... but not quite flavourful for people with heavy taste-buds. It was OK to me though.

We were there for more than 3 hours, sitting down while enjoying the meal and catching up with each others' life. ^^

Mid Valley City's New Restaurant Ipoh Chicken Rice

This restaurant is situated in between Mid Valley Megamall and The Garden's entrance. I didn't know about this place until my friend suggested we had chicken rice for dinner few days ago. lol..

We ordered their combo meal for RM29.90 that includes a bowl of soup (with two huge fishballs & meatballs), a plate of bean sprouts, roasted pork, steamed chicken, and 2 Hainanese chicken rice)

We were there for dinner and I was quite surprised their business was very busy considering it was a week day where people normally doesn't eat out much (er, or was it only me that dine-in at the comfort at my own home where Mum cooks almost daily)... hehehe

Anyway, the 芽菜鸡饭 meal was good and again, I'll recommend this to my family when we go for shopping in Mid Valley/ The Gardens some time in the future (which I presume will be very soon!) ^^

Ting Ho Porridge Steamboat

My friends and I used to have our porridge steamboat at Char Par Par Steamboat Restaurant but the place has closed down two years ago and since then, we haven't been to any steamboat place that offers porridge steamboat!

Was in the mood for it on Wednesday so I suggested we go scout for a good porridge steamboat meal in Klang! So, we ended up sitting in Ting Ho Steamboat Restaurant which is situated in Bayu Tinggi Klang for this very much anticipated dinner. ^^

We chucked all the ingredients in (except for the fried dough) and waited for a few minutes before indulging my first steamboat porridge in two years! Oh ya, 3 of us ordered a '2-person's' meal and that alone left us feeling very stuffed at the end of the meal.

Here's the only picture that I've captured after everything has been 'thrown' into the pot for boiling... hahaha Hands and mouth was occupied with food once they're ready to be served. *shy*

Will suggest this place to my family and friends if they're in the mood for something different next time! Pricing was reasonable, 3 persons bill came up to less RM40.00 (including drinks) and we think it was well worth it... ^^

Parents' Day Luncheon

Spent my time doing something meaningful on Sunday and well, it was fun too!

There's an association/club that organised this Parents' Day Luncheon for senior citizens from one of the old folks home in Klang. They've invited the little kids from Juyen's Precious Tree Learning centre to perform for the old people in conjuction for this meaningful event.

I was there just to be nosy and took some photographs on behalf on the centre. =)

Overall, I think this event was a success and I was very glad I went and 'participate' on that very day... Kids performing some story-telling and dance performance while the guests enjoying their meal.

Pheww, finally got the time to update here! Can't believe one week has passed and I haven't post anything yet. The past two weeks has been hectic and after work I don't think have energy to sit and clear my mind to blog already.

I was home early today so here I am, trying my very best to compile and note whatever that is worth me noting. =)

A friend has left Klang yet again to complete her studies, celebrated my homie KC's birthday, a family friend came and visit, visited the mall for shopping and good food session with family, and one of the most important friend in my life has tied the knot over the duration of 2 weeks! Think I'll just update some of them here as I doubt I'll have the time to edit all those pictures that I've captured.. hhmm...

Dinner at Seoul Garden Korean BBQ

Juyen was in the mood for Korean food. So, off we went to try-out Seoul Garden. There are a few Seoul Garden outlets in the Klang Valley and nearest to us would be Bukit Raja, Bukit Tinggi Klang and USJ City mall, so we decided to go to the Bukit Tinggi one. =)

It's situated on the first floor where the old Halo Cafe used to be (nearby Station 1). Really, you can't missed it once you're there.

Ten little dishes was placed in front of us after we've placed our order. I really liked the little dishes that every Korean restaurant has to offer coz they're different every time! From seaweed to varieties of kimchis. It was really heavenly! ^^

From the BBQ selection, we ordered the short ribs marinated in their special formulated soy-sauce a.k.a Pork - Galbi

Pork-Galbi/RM 27.00

Had grilled/ barbecued seafood during my very first patron to a Korean restaurant, second was chicken, third was lamb and it's my forth visit now, so we opt for the pork! hehehe...

We ordered another portion of Kimchi-Jiggae/RM18.00. It's actually kimchi stew with pork and tofu. The bowl of goodness was awesome but I didn't manage to capture any pictures of it. haha.. Was too engrossed with all the little bowls that was placed in front of me already!

Haemul-Pajeon/RM30.00

Frankly, this dish was quite disappointing. The batter of the pancake is a lil bit too thick and there wasn't much flavour too. Had this similar pancake from CheGo few weeks ago and I still like theirs more. I'll try to request for less spring onion and more seafood next time.

Dolsot Bibimbap/RM20.00

This was the most attractive among all the food that we've ordered yesterday evening. It's served in a hot stone bowl with a raw egg yolk placed right at the centre of the bowl together with a variety of other toppings. This colourful bowl of rice is a must-try for everyone. Very pretty, and tempting! ^^

Sushi King

5 of us went out in a car, but 3 of us (nephew, niece & myself) went to have Japanese food while parents have Chinese food few shop lots away... =)

It has been years since I last brought my niece and nephew to Sushi King coz their food weren't that great anymore. Or maybe there are a lot more competitors have popped up over the years...

The two of them really lurve whatever sort of food if there are salmon that came together with the meal. lol... Bill came up to almost RM100 and I'm thankful that I did not bring them to a more 'pricey' Japanese restaurants! hahaha... They ordered so much I thought they couldn't finish all the food, but in the end, all the food served on our table was gone within minutes!! hahaha...

Just secured a flight on AirAsia and the fare was RM0.10 to our destination, and Rm0.10 back from our destination! Woo hoo!!! After adding taxes and stuff, the fare per person is still less than RM150!! Worth it worth it.... ^^

Can't wait for next March's relaxing trip!!!

Porridge for Two

Was in the mood for some hot porridge on Wednesday and while hunting for our porridge, we came across Restoran DST 大树头田鸡粥 in Bukit Tinggi.

I've passed by this place several times but it never occur to me to stop and have a try. But, it's an exception today... Porridge time!

We ordered a pot of plain porridge, a plate of vegie, one deep fried black pomfret and a portion of claypot bullfrog 田鸡 their signature dish.

We really overestimated our 'eating' ability. Over ordered and ended up wasting the food although they were really yummy. We had the small pot of plain porridge and the portion was really big!

Total damage to the wallet for our dinner: RM41.00. Consider quite pricey as I always considered porridge are food for the sick/ unwell people. hhmm...

To Oldtown, if you can make your food looks good as those in the pictures in your menu, please maintain the quality when placing the food to your customers too!! Sigh... Sadly, they WON'T ever improve... Just like our KTM (Railway) service... Forever no improvements, really hopeless!

'Old Town White Coffee' franchise is famous for their toast... The food illustration on their menu was very tempting. When you open their menu, everything looks really good. For example, this one:

One of my dad's favourite; the Kaya Butter Toast.

I've had some bad experience with it before but I still gave it a try today.

We normally place our order on a piece of their 'order chit' and I purposely add on two words in my order this afternoon. I had, uhm... the Kaya butter toast, with 'MORE KAYA' written quite clearly on the chit, and the waiter also did put a remark on their 'official' order.

When my toast was served, this was placed in front of me; and I felt like STRANGLING the person that made my order right there and then!

No difference from what I had previously.

Coincidentally, my mood wasn't very good and I was really in the mood for complaining..... So, I had the waiter to return my order back to the kitchen and replace a new one for me....

2 minutes later....

This was placed in front of me. There, slightly better than the first time.

At least I feel a lil bit more satisfied when eating the toast in the end, or else I'll ban this place for toasts in the future.

Penang Road's Teochew Cendol

In my opinion, (along with 245,764,378 others) the best 'cendol' in the whole of Penang would be at Penang Road - Teochew Chendul! This stall is situated at a small lane 'off Penang Road' and not on the Penang Road itself, and it always attract a lot of people queuing to have a bowl of their awesome dessert~

If you don't already know, 'Cendol' is a Malaysian dessert made from shaved ice, green coloured jelly, coconut milk, red bean and brown sugar.

Perfect to enjoy a bowl of cendol in our super hot country!

Price for a bowl: RM 1.90
To take-away: RM2.20

Reasonably priced coz the quality is always great! ! ^^

Ming Xiang Tai Pastry House

Hello, I'm in Penang now! With my 2nd sis and family... Lo and behold, the coming few posts would also be on food! Starting with some pastries first! =)

We passed by this little pastry house while on our way to get some 'Tau Sar Pneah" from Ghee Hiang at Macalister Road. 2nd sis saw their 'beancurd dessert' sign and was very tempted to stop by and have a try. So, we stopped and hop into Ming Xiang Tai and ordered a few pastries to eat-in and more pastries to take-away!!

I looked in awe all those little sins that's being displayed and waiting for us, the customers to eat them. Frankly, I was practically stuffed to the throat coz just had our heavy lunch just one hour before and here we are, sitting down to munch on something AGAIN!!

Nephew's Trishaw Egg Tart (their signature) and my Crispy Yam Puff.

Sis ordered 8 pastries to take-out I'm not sure what she bought coz I was very engrossed with the Yam Puff at that moment. hahahaha... When she came back over to our table, she said their Egg Tarts were all sold out!

My goodness, just 5 minutes earlier, I was happily shooting away a big tray of egg tarts from the display counter and fast-forward few minutes later, they're all been snapped up! That proved how awesome their signature egg tarts were, huh?

Well, nvm... Maybe we'll go again tomorrow to buy more and take some back home for the kids at home to try! ^^

Woo Pin Fish Paste Noodles

Lunch in Taman Danau Desa.

My first time trying Woo Pin's famous fish head noodles! Correction, I don't really know how to appreciate 'fish head', so I opted for fish paste noodle instead! It's good nonetheless...But if you are ok with their signature 'fish head' noodles, my colleagues said it's a must-try!! I've requested another bowl of homemade wine to go with it coz the milky taste was a bit too strong for me. hehehe...

Price for the small bowl is RM7.00 and large is RM8.50. Even the small portion would be very very very filling already!

Seafood + Toddy at Coconut Flower Restaurant

Racheal, Jessy, her mum and bro came all the way from Cheras with the intention of having some seafood and coconut wine a.k.a toddy in Teluk Gong. I haven't got a clue where else that sells these traditionally brewed 'wine' so I suggested to have them in Coconut Flower Restaurant.

Toddy & Guinness stout. RM7.00 & RM8.50 respectively.

There were 5 of us, but I've ordered 6 dishes. Wrong choice from me coz we couldn't finish some dishes in the end! I wanted to order another fish but they stopped me. hhmmm.... The last time I paid a visit to this restaurant was with Andrew T and I've made a mental note to self to NOT order their dried fried oysters and salted egg crab coz it was really crappy.

These are what we had on a lovely Monday afternoon...

Medium clams in rice wine soup - awesome! Signature coconut tomyum prawns - awesome! Stir fried Daun keladi (don't know what is it called in English) - not-so-awesome. Sizzling hot plate oysters with egg - awesome!

Oat & buttered mantis prawns, and Salt & pepper soft shell crab. BOTH deep fried. @@

Should've just ordered just one deep fried dish. Too much of something can make people sick sometimes. geez....

... and how can we forget this. It's toddy mixed with Guinness stout, absolute yummeh!

Price was reasonable considering it's a public holiday that day, and service was also prompt. Food wise, not so great compared to those days where their food quality was way much better than present. But it's still alright to have seafood there just remember not to order their sucky salted egg crabs. hahaha... Anyway, will be back for more toddy...... someday.. ^^

Salad crave!

Had a few 'sudden' crave for salad (yep, you saw it right, it's SALAD!) recently... These are some of the salad I've had in the past two weeks! Ok, from now on, I'm going to try on different types of salad from different places if I have the chance to... ^^

Shepherdoo's chicken caesar salad. Rating: 6 out of 10.
Their cajun chicken was good, it would be even more awesome if they were to be more generous on the chicken strips..

Vivo's classic caesar salad. Rating: 5 out of 10
The very classic caesar salad with crispy strips of chicken ham I suppose? Too much cheese sprinkles on top made the whole salad a lil bit to salty for my liking. Lurve the croutons though!

Shepherdoo's house salad. Rating: 7 out of 10.
This would be my favourite among all 4 I've posted today. A very appetising portion of salad coz their orange dressing was really, well, appetising!

KLCC Chinoz on the Park's grilled chicken salad. Rating: 6 out of 10
One of the priciest salad that I've ordered to date. It was very very very filling as they are not stingy with the grilled chicken.

I am not a fan of raw vegie/ salad before this but I don't know why I've been ordering all these greens whenever I saw them offering in the menu at the 'makan' places I've visited recently. hahaha... Never mind, it's good for health, so it's alright! ^^

Happy first of May everyone! It's the second year I'm 'celebrating' Labour Day (2007 the first) and many many more 1st day of the month of May to come. ^^

The day has been eventful to me up to this moment and a few more plans coming up later thru the night.

It's half past 7 in the evening and I felt like I've done so much for the day already!

I've had breakfast with my family, minus Mum coz she's in KK now.
I've brought my niece and nephews to the cinema to watch the highly recommended Rio.
I've bought some gifts and food for my niece and nephew.
I've bought a gift for myself, [another copy of Leehom's Evolution album] ehem.
I've became photographer for youngest niece & her brother's birthday party
.... and I've finally chuck all my handbags in a box to make my room a 'tidier' one. [still messy, but a bit more tidy without all my handbags in sight. haha....

Anyway, updates have been getting lesser and lesser as I'm getting busier and busier with work and life. Think to the bright side, at least the management have decided to convert my contract employment to a permanent one~ Yay to myself!!! ^^

will try to update as much as I can when I don't feel too tired to do anything after work. Am having my 2nd day out of the 3-day weekend... and I'm enjoying every moment of it now. Gotta run...

Dinner for family

Was in the mood for making dinner for my family on Sunday and these are what I've prepared for them yesterday evening.

It's nothing spectacular, just simple dishes for people whom I *heart* the most. ^^

2 types of vegie and 2 variety of chicken dishes. ^^

It's my first time preparing a meal for my family in a long long time. The last time was in 2009 if I'm not mistaken. Mum was happy coz she doesn't need to cook for the evening. I was happy because I get to cook for them. ho ho ho,...

Homemade Tiramisu

Was craving for this Tiramisu dessert and went out to hunt for the ingredients for it. Thank goodness the dessert was a success. XD

The ingredients:

500gm mascarpone cheese
4 egg yolks
300g sponge fingers
coffee powder
cocoa powder
Irish cream

I've made this a few times before in Sheffield but this was the first time I've made it in Klang.

Step by step of making it below:

Whisk mascarpone cheese for a while until it became smooth.

Beat the egg yolks with some sugar in a separate bowl. Then, add the egg yolks into the mascarpone cheese and whisk til it was smooth again.

Mix in the Irish cream.

I poured about 6 bottle caps into the mix. Reduce or add more bottle caps to cater your own preference.

Add hot water into coffee powder; and lightly soften the sponge fingers in the coffee.

Add a base of mix into a container; and arrange the sponge fingers on the base. Cover with a layer of the mix and repeat the step.

Second layer.

After everything is done, place the Tiramisu into the fridge for a few hours to chill. 4 hours should be sufficient.

.... A few hours later....

Sprinkle with cocoa powder before serving.

.. and it's done! My first homemade Tiramisu in Klang. ^^

I was craving for pasta this morning and I suggested to JY that we have dinner at somewhere with some good Italian food. There are quite a few dining places at Centro, so I have chosen to dine in Modesto's this evening.

We were there before 9 and it was still 'Happy Hour' time, so I ordered two glasses of beer @ RM9.00 each first. It was good drinking this super cold drink after work on a Friday really! ^^

My Spaghetti Aglio Olio with Prawns! I've never tried Aglio Olio before so I gave it a try, and..... I like it so much! Spaghetti with olive oil, garlic and chilli flakes. Delicious and yet simple at the same time.

After much talking with my friend, we feel that the mains that we had earlier on has digested so she ordered another portion of french fries and I was in the mood for dessert so I ordered a portion of their house Tiramisu.

Modesto's Tiramisu - The description on the menu says, "The original version of mascarpone cheese,espresso coffee, sponge cake and coffee liquer". I don't quite agree coz I couldn't taste even a little trace of coffee liquer in the cake. hhmmm.... Quite a let down actually, considering it's suppose to be their 'signature' dessert.

Anyway, I had a good time having a good chat and relaxed time with my good friend just now. Been working quite late for the past 2 weeks and chilling on Fridays after work really was a bliss!

After 11 days of waiting to visit my friend's newborn, I finally got the chance to go to their house and see this small & cute lil princess on Sunday!!! *happieee*

Sunday Indulgence

Went for a girly shopping (window shopping) outing with JY and both of us pamper ourselves with great food as well! We had late breakfast @ McDonalds [Bandar Puteri], followed by late lunch @ Oh Sushi [Mid valley], and tea time @ Alexis [The Gardens]!! ^^

Here's our lunch....

Our lunch.... One set of salmon sashimi bento, aburi salmon mentai (must order!), ebikko chawan mushi (must order also!), tuna mayo ebikko maki, ebikko sushi, salmon mayo aburi sushi & a california roll! *burps*

Food at Oh Sushi was alright. It was my first time there and one thing I dislike about restaurant nowadays is that, most of the waiters there are foreigners! Some can't even understand simple English and Oh Sushi is one of the many chain restaurants that employs foreign people. I have no problem with that coz everyone needs to earn their living, but come on, please employ someone that actually can speak and understand simple terms at least!

We continue with out shopping (or more like window shopping to me) until I suggested we go to Alexis to have the dessert! Their signature dessert is the yummilicious Tiramisu! So, we ordered a slice of it and another slice of chocolate cake to add more more calories into our meal. muahahahaha...

It was JY's first time trying the tiramisu and she said it was awesome too! yay!! Great dessert comes in a handsome price too, both of us had only 2 drinks and 2 cakes and the bill was almost as much as our lunch from Oh Sushi... Oh well, once in a while, boleh-larh! LOL...

Thank God It's Friday!!!

Been working late for the past few days and I am seriously very tired today!

Just came back from watching 'Don't Go Breaking My Heart' starring Daniel Wu & Louis Koo. It's romantic + comedy... A movie that is worth watching coz you'll have a good laugh during the movie.... and and anddd.... two super handsome hunks in the movie, how can you NOT love this movie, right? Even if the story plot is not nice, see the two handsome also syok already! hahahaha.... enough of blabbing.

Now, I. have. to. sit. back. and. unwind. and. relax. til. I. am. utterly. satisfied!!!

Dinner at BellyGood

Went with KJ to this place to have dinner.

BellyGood! Cute and creative name, huh? We were there early (about half past 6) coz I went straight after work and there isn't many people in the restaurant yet.

We ordered our drinks and asked the waitress to give us more time to decide what food we are getting to fill our empty stomachs. XD

KJ's fruit juice, and my Esprit sparkling passion... It's been a very very long time since I last had this Esprit drink...

We, the TWO greedy fellow, ordered THREE portions of food that evening!! muahahah.

I wanted to have salad so I ordered this Grilled Bacon Salad and leave the rest for KJ to order. It was absolutely yumms~!!

Delicious pork bacon on a bed of fresh mixed salad with honey mustard dressing.

Here comes the other dishes that my friend has ordered for us. This is a must-eat Mixed Platter! It's a combination of grilled pork belly, and grilled pork ribs with homemade mashed potatoes and fresh coleslaw.

I truly *hearts* the ribs AND mashed potatoes!!! Not a fan of fatty belly though... So, my poor friend has to finish the whole piece by himself~ XD

One more which is not in their menu. The owner of the place suggested we try their homemade sausages coz it's only available on weekdays. They don't serve this during weekend coz business are usually busy and they do not have time to make this for the customers in time. Apparently, it's made to order kinda sausage... ha haa...

It's tasty but not really much to my liking. I think it's taste quite pepperish and thought it'll be perfect if minus the strong pepper smell in the sausage. This one is worth a try though.

We were very very very stuffed at the end of our meal and told ourselves not to have any pork in the next couple of weeks or so. I think I failed coz I went on to have BKT with my parents during that weekend itself. muahahaha... Anyway, here's a pic of me with the two mains before we start digging in.
